Arizona Section 8 housing.

The government run Arizona Section 8 housing program will provide rent subsidized homes, apartments, and houses to low income qualified applicants. Find below the public housing authorities in Arizona near you to contact for help applying for Section 8. Also learn about the waiting lists as well as income based units or requirements. There are phone numbers to call to apply for the section 8 as well as emergency Housing Choice Voucher program in Arizona.

The Housing Choice Voucher program works in Arizona by subsidizing a portion of the tenant’s monthly rent. In certain cases utilities and energy bills may be included as well. The total amount of rental assistance provided is determined by a few factors, including the applicant’s total household income and number of people in their home. In general the section 8 voucher will pay the difference between what the client’s income is and what they need to pay for their monthly rent on their apartment or home.

A HUD Arizona section 8 housing choice voucher can be used by the client to pay for any type of private rental housing, including a home or apartment, that meets various standards, including safety and affordability. The landlord also needs to accept you as a tenant. A list of section 8 homes, including those with no-wait list, available for lease in Arizona can be found online or at a public housing authority near you listed below.

The total rent the landlord charges the family (or single person) also needs to be within program limits. Also keep in mind that the private landlord will still retain normal management responsibilities and rights, including collecting the tenant’s share of the housing costs, tenant selection, property management, as well as the landlord overseas evictions and lease termination.

As with almost all government and public assistance programs, household income restrictions will apply. The exact criteria for section 8 in Arizona will vary based on the family size and where they live in the state. The public housing authority below will have the latest information.
