Get help with rent in Mesa Arizona. A number of non-profit organizations, churches, charities and government agencies can help the low income pay rent and deal with housing issues. There are also grants for helping with security deposits or moving costs, free legal aid, shelters, and other emergency rental assistance programs.

Every year thousands of people facing eviction and/or homelessness apply for and get rent assistance from the large number of Mesa Arizona based agencies. Limited financial assistance in an emergency may be offered, including for rent or a security deposit for the homeless. In some cases, a no interest loan is issued to income and credit qualified families in Maricopa County. This can be used to pay for housing, rent, or related costs.

A New Leaf's MesaCAN, which is located at 635 E Broadway Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204-2023 and phone number is (480) 833-9200, provides money for paying utilities and rent/mortgage to qualified individuals as resources allow.  For rent and/or mortgage assistance call on Thursdays from 2 – 2:30 pm.  For Utility bill assistance call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 am.

The non-profit agency provides financial assistance as well as case management services to low income families and individuals who are facing an emergency situation impacting their housing, such as needing rent help, eviction prevention services, utilities, health, and safety.

In addition, financial coaching is available to provide counseling on debt reduction, credit score improvement, and many other financial needs, all of which can impact housing. On Tuesday, Arizona Housing Hub is available to provide information on how to apply for Section 8 housing.

Maricopa County Human Services Department offers information on emergency services, including rental assistance, foreclosure help, home repairs, and financial aid in Mesa. Any funds for current or first months rent need to prevent homelessness. Call (602) 506-5911 for an appointment or referrals.

My Second Chance Rental
Those with a financial crisis, including facing eviction or that owe back rent, may qualify for help from the non-profit. Get assistance in locating new, low income apartments. Eviction help and rehousing is coordinated by members of the Coalition to End Homelessness. Mesa agencies will offer referrals to emergency solution grants for paying security deposits or rent.
