The charity organization offers emergency financial assistance. Funds can be used to pay housing expenses (such as back rent, security deposits or electric bills) as well as other basic needs. Somerset County Homelessness Trust Fund Rental Assistance Program - Applicants/clients will need to participate in financial literacy and budgeting programs.. As funding allows, the program will provide qualified individuals with several months if not more of emergency rental assistance, counseling and case management. The intent of the program is to assist low income, senior, and other clients with housing needs while they learn how to keep up with future rent.

Among other things, it will help them become aware of and access resources  to help increase their chances of maintaining permanent housing within Somerset County. For example, the emergency housing and rental assistance program will provide a monthly subsidy to pay the difference between their total household rent and 30 percent of the client’s income for an ongoing basis.

Homesharing Program Of Somerset County, Inc. Phone number (908) 526-4663. The HomeSharing Program of Somerset County has resources and services for all people in Somerset County NJ who are in need of affordable housing and/or emergency rental help. PROCEED has government grants as well as rental assistance for the unemployed, which may be available. There are funds to pay a portion of rent if an applicant is facing homelessness and they are out of all other options.
