A number of services are provided by free food banks, soup kitchens and free, emergency pantries in the Portland Oregon area. Most of the free food pantries are non-profits, and they may be located at churches, Salvation Army, Community Action Agencies, or a number of other charity organizations. The Oregon Food Bank coordinates many of the assistance programs and agencies, including free Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets in Portland OR.
