What Original Medicare pays for at the dentist

Medicare Advantage plans and dental benefits
Many Medicare Advantage plans include some dental coverage, and this is the most common way people on Medicare get dental benefits. What is covered varies a lot from plan to plan. If your income is low enough, you may qualify for Medicaid (or your state’s version of it) in addition to Medicare, and in many states Medicaid pays for dental care that Medicare does not. PACE: a program for seniors who need a high level of care
PACE, the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, covers dental care as one of its services. It serves people 55 and older who need a nursing home level of care but can live safely at home with support, and it operates only in some areas. If you have Medicaid, PACE has no monthly premium. Free dental treatment from volunteer dentists
The Dental Lifeline Network runs a program called Donated Dental Services, and it exists for the people this page is written for. Some counties, states, and nonprofit groups run dental programs just for older adults, and there is no single national list of them.
