Palm Beach County Salvation Army emergency assistance.

The Salvation Army provides both help and hope to the less fortunate in the Palm Beach County Florida region. They can provide emergency financial assistance to people with a crisis and who are in serious need. In addition, case management, guidance, and social services are administered to the low income and seniors. The Salvation Army can often provide people of Palm Beach options, guidance and a second chance at achieving long term success.

Palm Beach County has been hit hard by the nation’s weak economy, and many families are struggling. Many people have lost their jobs, and others are one missed paycheck or two from falling behind. Assistance programs offered by the Salvation Army can provide food, limited amounts of financial assistance for basic needs such as utility bills or rent, medications, and much more. The programs focus on people who don’t have the resources to help themselves, or who have run out of options. Since funding is limited, priority is given to those who are most at risk, such as senior citizens and families with children, or people on the verge of homelessness.

The non-profit also serves as a ministry to the whole person, so their mind, body, and spirit. Meeting those needs is a hallmark of the social services and low income emergency assistance programs that are offered by The Salvation Army.  Palm Beach County programs and resources include:

In order to apply for emergency assistance, including such resources as one time rental assistance, all applications and components require the individual to go through an intake needs assessment interview. This needs to be completed during the initial visit to the Salvation Army center. Case management is mandatory during subsequent social service visits, and this is done to ensure the individual maintains forward progress in maintaining and achieving goals. The homeless, including veterans, can access transitional housing. This is a concept in which people and families, including single parents, who are in need of housing are assisted for a period of time. This is short term relief, and can help people stabilize their lives, reach self-sufficiency, and make permanent living arrangements. The Salvation Army's Center of Hope can provide people in Palm Beach with temporary housing and support services for up to 2 years.
