Free or low cost food is distributed from non-profit pantries as well as charities. Roadrunner Food Bank - The organization operates across the state of New Mexico. They provide both emergency assistance from programs such as the Childhood Hunger Initiative to long term support, including applications to SNAP food stamps or free baby formula. Other services arranged by the statewide non-profit include Meals on Wheels for senior citizens as well as WIC and summer snacks for children. The unemployed can apply for food stamps, and get SNAP benefits in New Mexico.
