New Mexico free pantries, soup kitchens and free food banks.

Free or low cost food can be distributed from non-profit pantries as well as charities. Find a list below of local and state food banks in New Mexico that may be near you. Hundreds of locations are operating throughout the state. With about 20% of the states population receiving food stamps or other public aid, many low income families and even just people facing a short term crisis turn to the sites for assistance.

Various forms of support are administered. The exact type of assistance provided by each food bank or pantry will vary. It may include some or all of the following. Groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen items, breads, and other perishable products. Some food banks in New Mexico may also even provide gently used or discounted clothing. Roadrunner Food Bank - The organization operates across the state of New Mexico. They provide both emergency assistance from programs such as the Childhood Hunger Initiative to long term support, including applications to SNAP food stamps or free baby formula.Other services arranged by the statewide non-profit include Meals on Wheels for senior citizens as well as WIC and summer snacks for children.
