Jefferson County Kentucky Christmas and holiday assistance.

Several organizations in Jefferson County provide assistance to families, children, and seniors during the holidays. Low income residents can turn to charities as well as local churches, and there are even national organizations that can help. However most are focused on a limited area or certain zip codes in the county.

Clients can not only receive some type of free food basket, meal, or toys for the holiday, but they will also be referred to longer term support to deal with the cause of their struggle. The Christmas programs in Louisville often rely on donations from the community and volunteers, so any items provided are limited.

In addition to helping children by giving a toy, the organizations will also try to provide home delivery of a hot Thanksgiving meal or Christmas basket to seniors and the homebound. So may resources are provided as part of this process.
