Durham County families of all backgrounds can turn to charity programs for free Christmas gifts, food baskets and other holiday help, including free Thanksgiving turkey dinners. Income qualified residents that can meet the terms and conditions in place by each organization can be provided free Christmas toys for tots their children, books, games, gift cards or maybe an entire holiday meal. The programs available go by many names.

At the same time an individual applies, they may also be referred to case management services for long term financial aid. This will help the low income Durham family not only make it through the Christmas, Thanksgiving or Easter holiday, but it can lead to long term success too. Toys for Tots of Durham County and City
