Free back to school supplies in New Castle County.

Charities, corporations and churches help students get free school supplies, regardless of their grade or age. The goal of these programs is to ensure kids from grades K-12 in New Castle County have the supplies they need for school, including clothes, tech products and other items. Many of the programs in the region are one-day events. Meaning the organization will provide free school supplies, meals, shoes, Chromebooks and more to students on a first come-served basis. The non-profit has a number of educational and child development programs. One is an annual free school supply event in which the organization gives kids free backpacks full of supplies in partnership with local groups such as New Castle PAL. Sunday Breakfast Mission

The charity helps homeless people, and families with kids, get school supplies. A shelter is the main program, but there are also free clothes, shoes, sneakers, and hygiene supplies for students. Or get folders, notebooks, lunch boxes and more for homeless kids.

The Charity has many programs that help low-income families, single moms and people in need. Each summer there are free school supplies giving out as well as a low cost summer camp. Or get meals, hygiene kits and clothes for kids. The free school supplies can also include gift cards too.

New Castle County Community Centers
There are 4 of them in the county. Each year they will have some form of free back to school supply “party”. They allow kids to get everything from food to a physical and backpack full of school supplies. They also help students from low-income families get computers, tablets, and more, including a free iPhone from the government. Dial 302-395-5683

Neighborhood House

Cradles to Crayons
The non-profit, with a main office in Philly, is providing free school supplies to low-income families in New Castle County DE as part of the Backpack-A-Thon program. The non-profit has a Bookbag Giveaway and Resource Fair for Wilmington as well as the county. Most years hundreds of free school backpacks are given out to students from grades K-12. They also give referrals to free food programs, clothes, and other educational services for kids.
