If you need help in Polk County or Dallas Oregon, the place to contact is the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency. They are a non-profit organizations that provides information on available assistance programs, and may be able to provide short term assistance to those who need help. Another option is the Polk County Salvation Army. Learn more on both options below.

Rent and eviction prevention assistance

They offer a few programs for people who are facing eviction, who may currently be homeless, or are low income. The options include.

Polk County Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program - This resource provides rental assistance and housing aid to very low-income families for a twelve-month period of time, with case management services, counseling, and more also part of the package. (503) 623-8429

ARCHES Transitional Housing Program – This is a service that provides rental assistance, housing placement assistance, case management, and counseling, and more to families and individuals who are currently homeless in Dallas and Polk County Oregon. Eligible participants of this program will need to be experiencing numerous barriers to accessing and maintaining appropriate housing. (503) 399-9080

Last, but not least, for housing aid is the so called Housing Stabilization Program. This option provides both financial assistance and case management to those families at risk of becoming homeless and currently homeless families. The community action agency runs the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This program provides heating bill and fuel assistance payments, client education, budget and debt counseling, utility liaison activities, disconnection crisis assistance, and more for low-income, elderly and disabled clients. Weatherization assistance - This federal government assistance program serves low-income and senior citizens by offering energy bill conserving assistance. Clients can access weatherization services including weather-stripping of doors and windows, wall and ceiling insulation, floor, duct insulation and sealing, water heater insulation, caulking, and other conservation measures.

Help for paying bills, rent, food, and other aid

H2O - Help & Hope To Others is a local, emergency food pantry for the entire Polk County Oregon area. 451 SE Maple Street, Dallas, Oregon 97338, main number is (503) 831-4736

Grand Ronde Community Resource Center organizes a supplemental food distribution program, provides senior meals, referrals, and a food bank is located at the center. Call (503) 879-5731

Monmouth Christian Church – A food pantry offers food and meals to people in the Monmouth area who are in need of assistance. Distribution of aid is done in Heritage Hall which is in Monmouth Christian Church. 959 Church Street West, Monmouth, OR 97361, dial (503) 838-1145

Saint Vincent De Paul - This charity and its partner churches provide services to Polk County, Dallas, and residents of the entire Mid-Willamette Valley. Various emergency assistance programs are offered, including food, meals, and possible financial help for bills or rent. Other resources include free gently used clothing, resources for seniors and they are an Oregon application site for food stamps and Medicaid. Read more.





Polk Community Free Clinic At Trinity Lutheran Church – The low income and uninsured may receive basic care. The church has an Acute Care Clinic offering acute and chronic care for illness. A chiropractic clinic as well as a free dental care clinic that provides cleanings and extractions are at the center. Health Community Clinic is located at 180 Atwater Street N, Monmouth, Oregon 97361, phone (503) 606-3288. The primary care clinic is currently taking new patients, but patients must go through an intake appointment to set up an appointment with a doctor. Please be advised that the time to get medical care may be several weeks due to demand and the application process.

Polk County Salvation Army

This local branch, which is part of the overall Oregon umbrella, provides families, low-income seniors, the working poor, families with children and individuals with Emergency Aid and information on local government programs, charities and services. The main resource available in Mid-Willamette Valley as well as Polk County Oregon is known as Family Services. Limited amounts of cash can pay energy bills, rent, or provide for prescriptions, among other needs. Case management services are available as well, including information on employment services.
