Transitional housing and homeless shelters in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma County and OKC city residents who are homeless or need a place to stay in a crisis can get help from a number of local homeless shelters, charities, and short term transitional housing programs. The resources are focused on the very low income, homeless adults or teens and those who need a place to live. Find a homeless shelter or temporary housing in the greater Oklahoma City region.

Regardless of the person’s reason for struggling, the agencies will do what they can, if anything, to help. This can include offering short term, emergency shelter or providing referrals to a church that provides a place to sleep. Some clients may be able to enroll into transitional housing type programs and apartments. These will usually also provide case management type services to help prevent future episodes of homelessness.

Some non-profits in the greater Oklahoma County region also take a more-proactive approach. They may be able to help people apply for eviction prevention services, such as emergency rental programs. Or learn about, and get assistance in enrolling, into government subsidized apartments or transitional homes.
