The Oklahoma City area has several charities and churches that provide help at the holidays. Organizations provide everything from free Christmas toys or presents to holiday meals or food baskets. There is assistance, including food or gifts, available at Thanksgiving and Easter too in OKC. There are free holiday programs in Oklahoma City, Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, Pottawatomie, and Grady County. Examples of what may be provided to registered families are below, including Toys for Tots and Angel Tree.

Skyline Urban Ministry

They run the Christmas Grace adopt a family program. Gifts are purchased by the community for a child. Parents are then able to pick the toys and even food baskets up from the Christmas Store.

 

 

 

The Christmas Connection - Sharing tree

They operate in all counties in Central Oklahoma, including Canadian, Cleveland, and others. There is a store in which people can shop for toys, clothing, and holiday items or even school supplies. There may be clothing, shoes, stocking, small presents for Christmas morning and more. One particular day is also for senior citizens in the region, which allows them to get the help and joy at Christmas that they so readily deserve.

Regional Oklahoma City and Central part of state Toys for Tots
The Marines of Rocket Battery work on this program with local volunteers and charities. It is offered in all six counties indicated above. Salvation Army Centers
There are several in the region. They operate programs such as Angel Tree and Adopt a Family, among many others. Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas meals may be served. For working poor families as well as seniors or the disabled that qualify, both Christmas assistance and other long term social services are available from the non-profit.

A Very Giving Christmas - Catholic Charities
Various charities in Oklahoma County partner on this service. There is holiday help, including free Christmas gifts, toys, books, and presents for children. Sunbeam Family Services also participates. Sharing Tree

Multiple counties are supported by this program. Cleveland and Oklahoma County, Canadian, and nearby low income families can apply for the Christmas Connection. There may be free presents, shoes, clothes, games, electronics, and other Christmas items. Another major focus is on giving free, warm winter clothes to kids and elderly in OKC, including during Christmas.

City Rescue Mission

Free Christmas and other holiday help, such as at Easter, is for the homeless and people in extreme poverty. Children may be given a small gift, and there are meals, clothing, and hygiene items. Men, veterans, domestic abuse survivors, and others often ask for holiday assistance.

Red Andrews Christmas Dinner

This takes place one day per year. Thousands of families, seniors, and others receive a free Christmas meal. In many cases, young children will get a gift as well. Families may be given a food bag to take home too.

Upward Transitions Travelers Aid

Churches in OKC area
There are multiple ministries, churches and parishes. AMost provide free holiday assistance to low-income families in the region. Free toys, stocking stuffers, holiday “parties” with meals and gift giveaway events and more. They are a Adopt a Family partner in the region. Children, teens and infants, including those from low-income, substance abuse or homeless households in OKC, can register. Cross and Crown Mission

They operate a food pantry and soup kitchen. Free groceries for the holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas), maybe small stocking stuffers for kids and other help. Assistance is in both English and Spanish.

They offer referrals to Christmas programs. Other services are provided to, such as information on government benefits, clothing for work, and more.

TFI Family Connections
They only help kids in the foster system. The address is 5350 S Western Ave #200, Oklahoma City, OK 73109. Foster parents that need help can dial (866) 543-9810.
Children, teens, and kids in the foster system can get help (as well as their parents). There is free holiday assistance at Xmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and year round. Whether it is clothes, food, birthday or Christmas toys, or something else, the non-profit TFI assists.
