Free Christmas and holiday assistance programs in Oklahoma County and the area.

The Oklahoma City area has several charities and churches that provide help with the holidays. Organizations provide everything from free Christmas toys or presents to holiday meals, gifts to kids or food baskets. There is assistance, including food, available at Thanksgiving too in Oklahoma County. There are free holiday programs in Oklahoma City, Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, Pottawatomie, and Grady County. Examples of what may be provided to registered families are below, including Toys for Tots and Angel Tree.

  • Donations are used from local businesses, churches, and volunteers to fund these resources.
  • What may be available at Christmas in the Oklahoma City area includes games, free presents, stocking, toys, clothing, and gift certificates. There may be Legos, stuffed animals, and even free Christmas trees or decorations.
  • Meals, including free turkey dinners in Oklahoma City, may be served at some holidays, including Thanksgiving or Christmas.

When registering for a holiday assistance program offered by a charity, proof of income, residency, age, and more information is needed. Any gifts are usually provided first come and served, and the application process for Christmas assistance does start early.

Skyline Urban Ministry

They run the Christmas Grace adopt a family program. Gifts are purchased by the community for a child. Parents are then able to pick the toys and even food baskets up from the Christmas Store.

The Christmas Connection - Sharing tree

They operate in all counties in Central Oklahoma, including Canadian, Cleveland, and others. There is a store in which people can shop for toys, clothing, and holiday items or even school supplies. There may be clothing, shoes, stocking, small presents for Christmas morning and more. One particular day is also for senior citizens in the region, which allows them to get the help and joy at Christmas that they so readily deserve.

 

 

 

Regional Oklahoma City and Central part of state Toys for Tots
The Marines work on this program with local volunteers and charities in counties including Oklahoma, Pottawatomie, Canadian, Grady and others.. It is offered in all six counties indicated above. Children and infants can get new toys, based on donation levels. Games, books, clothes, electronics, bikes, tablets, matchbox cars and many other items may be passed out. Salvation Army Centers
There are several in the region. They operate programs such as Angel Tree and Adopt a Family, among many others. Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas meals may be served. For working poor families as well as seniors or the disabled that qualify, both Christmas assistance and other long term social services are available from the non-profit.

A Very Giving Christmas - Catholic Charities
Various charities in Oklahoma County partner on this service. There is holiday help, including free Christmas gifts, toys, books, and presents for children. Sunbeam Family Services also participates. Sharing Tree

Multiple counties are supported by this program. Cleveland and Oklahoma County, Canadian, and nearby low income families can apply for the Christmas Connection. There may be free presents, shoes, clothes, games, electronics, and other Christmas items. Another major focus is on giving free, warm winter clothes to kids and elderly in OKC, including during Christmas.

City Rescue Mission

Free Christmas and other holiday help, such as at Easter, is for the homeless and people in extreme poverty. Children may be given a small gift, and there are meals, clothing, and hygiene items. Men, veterans, domestic abuse survivors, and others often ask for holiday assistance.

Danforth Senior Center

The non-profit partners with charities, including the Salvation Army, to help the elderly in Oklahoma County. Free holiday food baskets, small presents, clothes and Christmas celebrations are offered.

Victory Temple Church of God in Christ

They give out free Christmas toys to kids, infants and young teens. There may be items such as sporting equipment, video or board games, clothes, sneakers, and more as part of the Toys for Tots Christmas assistance program.

Red Andrews Christmas Dinner

This takes place one day per year. Thousands of families, seniors, and others receive a free Christmas meal. In many cases, young children will get a gift as well. Families may be given a food bag to take home too.

Upward Transitions Travelers Aid

Citizens Caring For Children

Seasonal programs are run. They can help the low income at Christmas, provide counseling, holiday baskets of food and items to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner, and more. All of this is based on the generous donations of the community.

Churches in OKC area
There are multiple ministries, churches and parishes. AMost provide free holiday assistance to low-income families in the region. Free toys, stocking stuffers, holiday “parties” with meals and gift giveaway events and more. They are a Adopt a Family partner in the region. Children, teens and infants, including those from low-income, substance abuse or homeless households in OKC, can register. Based on donations from the community, kids can get free Christmas gifts, toy trucks, board or video games, books, clothes and more.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Archdiocesan Council of Oklahoma City

While the programs and resources at each SVDP church vary, many offer holiday meals, free Christmas presents, meat, Christmas parties and more are for the vulnerable in the parish area.

Cross and Crown Mission

They operate a food pantry and soup kitchen. Free groceries for the holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas), maybe small stocking stuffers for kids and other help. Assistance is in both English and Spanish.

They offer referrals to Christmas programs. Other services are provided to, such as information on government benefits, clothing for work, and more.

 

 

 

TFI Family Connections
They only help kids in the foster system. The address is 5350 S Western Ave #200, Oklahoma City, OK 73109. Foster parents that need help can dial (866) 543-9810.
Children, teens, and kids in the foster system can get help (as well as their parents). There is free holiday assistance at Xmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and year round. Whether it is clothes, food, birthday or Christmas toys, or something else, the non-profit TFI assists.

Boys & Girls Club

A holiday event is held in which kids can celebrate Christmas, get free food or meals, small gifts or stocking stuffers and other support.
