Kane County Illinois free clothing closets, furniture, and school supplies.

Find where to get free or low cost items such as clothes, school supplies, household furniture, and Christmas assistance in Kane County Illinois. Several organizations, such as churches and charities, can help the less fortunate and low income in the community. The priority is on satisfying basic needs. They may operate clothing closets, free furniture banks and thrift stores in the community. Some have free furniture banks. While not everyone will be able to qualify for free items, most people from the public will be able to shop at a thrift store.

The items generally available will change throughout the year. For example, during the Christmas season the clothing closets will usually have toys, winter coats, and gifts for children. During the fall, Kane County families may receive items such as free back to school supplies, book bags or backpacks. What is offered year round will generally include clothes, boots, shoes, and coats.
