Emergency help for low-income families

Salvation Army of Harrison County is a Christian, faith based charity that helps the poor, low-income, homeless and others. The main address is 600 E End Blvd S C, Marshall, TX 75670. the programs are wide ranging, and include emergency financial help for paying electric bills or rent to free food, seasonal stuff (free school supplies or Christmas toys) and a shelter. CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center is a federally qualified, income based medical clinic. The uninsured, working poor, and those on Medicaid (among others) can get free or affordable health care. They hell pwith a variety of needs, ranging from free women's health check ups in Marshall County to physicals for kids, basic dental and more. Mission Marshall is the main regional food bank. It gives out free groceries to the low-income, including produce and canned food. Genesis PrimeCare is another income-based medical center. Marshall Housing Authority administers HUD section 8 housing vouchers. This is a rent subsidy that will help people living in poverty lease an apartment or house.
