Assistance from CancerCare Inc.

Numerous financial assistance programs and services are offered for free by CancerCare Inc. The non-profit organization helps tens of thousands of patients per year. Among other services administered by this non-profit include the fact that they can provide free professional help to patients with all types of cancers, ranging from financial help for some insurance bills (or medical to the uninsured) to support groups, counseling, education, information on medications and more.

Find how apply and get more details on CancerCare Inc. below. The programs can also support and aid their immediate families and those bereaved due to cancer through both group and individual counseling, education, information and referral. In addition, limited direct financial assistance and grants may be available.

Programs from CancerCare

Some of the programs offered may be able to provide patients and their families with limited financial assistance. People in all states may be qualified, and the funds can pay for many different types of cancers, including colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, women with breast, ovarian, and cervical cancer, and much more. Among other services, the programs will help individuals who cannot afford their health insurance co-payments to cover the cost of prescription medications for treating cancer.

In addition to the national financial aid mentioned above that may be provided by Cancer Care Inc., there are additional referrals given by the state. As they often have information on charitable or government cash grants that can include help for people with all types of cancers in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, parts of California, including the San Diego, California area

Financial assistance and grants are available to help for paying for pain medications, transportation, radiation, chemotherapy, home care, child care expenses, and some screening and biopsies costs. Please be aware that grants from CancerCare are not intended to pay for basic living expenses such as mortgage costs, rent, housing expenses, utility payments and food.

However if this is the kind of financial help that a patient or their family needs then a counselor may be able to direct you to local social workers. This can also include education as well as support groups for people (and their families) who are impacted by cancer. The social workers may be able to refer an applicant to a local agency, charity, or government program that can help with those types of expenses.

Cancer assistance for children

Another special program known as CancerCare for Kids is targeted at children with cancer. This service is also part of the free, professional services CancerCare provides all types of cancer patients, but these particular resources and programs are focused on the particular needs of children and their parents. The counselors that are part of the organization may be able to offer education, practical support, and all sorts of advice to parents, and they can provide counseling to children and teens to help them understand cancer.

To apply or for more information, there is a toll free number. To learn about the programs offered by Cancer Care Inc. dial 1-800-813-HOPE.
