Beaufort and Martin County free food pantries.
Food pantries operate across the greater Beaufort County region and there are also non-profits in nearby Martin North Carolina. With an excessive number of households facing hunger, including many with children or senior citizens, these pantries and soup kitchens can often help in an emergency.
The resources available are extensive and will even vary throughout the year. When possible, a free or low cost box of food (with canned and/or fresh goods) will be provided. Then, the next step, is offering information on everything from job training to applying for aid such as SNAP food stamps.
While not as common, some of the Beaufort County organizations also have clothing closets or offer seasonal support, which may be Christmas meals or even programs such as Adopt a Family or school supplies. So many services may be offered by a food pantry.
