Free free school supplies in Atlanta and surrounding counties.

There are some programs and agencies in the Atlanta region that focus on giving free school supplies to less fortunate kids. The assistance is for all counties in the Atlanta region, including Fulton, DeKalb, and Gwinnett County among others. The list below is only a sampling of free back to school supply events and programs. There are many other options too, and find more help from free clothing closets in Atlanta.

All these events come and go. They are not always offered each year, so it is recommended to call in advance for specifics. Also, the type of school supplies given out will vary. The agencies depend on the work of volunteers as well as donations from people and businesses across the Atlanta region. What may be given out to less fortunate students is the result of donations and volunteer work, but it includes:

-Writing materials, including pens, pencils, or notebooks.
-Students may be given electronics, including computers, calculators, tablets, or even free laptop computers.
-School clothing items, such as uniforms, shoes, boots, jackets, pants, dresses, socks, and more.
-Additional supplies may be backpacks and other goods, free gift cards, and other vouchers.

As we noted, the list below is only a small sampling of where to get school supplies in the greater Atlanta and surrounding area, including Fulton, DeKalb, and other communities. We also referenced a referral line below, and we have a link to more clothing closets in the region above. Most of the assistance is first come and served.
