Atlanta regional free clothing closets, school supplies, and clothes.
Non-profit agencies provide free clothing programs, household or school supplies and more for Atlanta Georgia area families. The support is focused on low-income persons and it can help them become more self-sufficient as well as confident. The free clothes, furniture, back to school supplies for students, and work items lead to family stability and more.
The programs offered by each clothing banks will vary, and depend heavily on donations from the community. Some of what is offered includes coats, shoes, book bags, uniforms and supplies for students. Certain clothing closets may also have items for infants or babies including formula, free diapers, and food. A special focus is on providing Christmas and holiday gifts and toys for children.
Locations are across De Kalb, Fulton County, and other regions in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Fee stuff is offered in multiple counties. Not only will they distribute or sell clothing at a low cost to the needy, but many may provide vouchers for free items. Some centers also operate thrift stores for the general public. Or they offer furniture for free to low income families.
While not as common, some of the clothing closets can also help with other emergency basic needs, such as expenses and bills including utilities or housing. That type of help is very limited though and comes with restrictions.
