Atlanta area free Christmas and holiday assistance programs.
Several non-profits and charities provide free holiday assistance across the greater Atlanta and Fulton County region. Some examples of the services available include free food, Christmas toys, gifts, meals, and more. The programs also support qualified low income families in nearby counties, including DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, Clayton, Butts, Cherokee, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Henry, Newton, Rockdale and Walton Georgia.
Thousands of children, seniors, and unemployed families receive some form of help around the holidays, both Christmas and Thanksgiving, from these programs and the non-profits that run them. A major assistance program is free Toys for Tots as well as Angel Tree in the Atlanta area.
The demand for assistance is very high and these groups have limited resources. Most rely heavily on the generosity of individuals and businesses in the greater Fulton County region. When possible, some of the resources provided include free Christmas gifts, clothing, Turkeys, hot holiday meals (including at Thanksgiving dinner), and more. Senior citizens and the disabled may have items delivered to them during the Christmas holiday. Each agency does its best to help the less fortunate. More information, and phone numbers, are below.
