Wilkes Barre free food pantries.

Food is provided across the greater Luzerne County to the needy. Families as well as individuals can turn to either a pantry, soup kitchen, or food bank for help. The centers are all focused on assisting the less fortunate in the community, with a focus on ending hunger and directing residents to programs for long term stability.

The leading food pantries in the region are below. Most have limited resources and operate on a first come and served basis. The type of items at each center vary and can range from canned goods to USDA commodities or even hot meals. If a charity can't help, then referrals are offered.

Also, many very low income families in Wilkes Barre may also benefit from food stamps. Or other sources of financial aid. The locations often have information on those programs too.
