Transitional housing and shelters for the un-housed in Reno and Washoe County.

When facing homelessness or if currently unhoused, several transitional housing programs as well as shelters are available in Washoe County. Committee to Aid Abused Women (CAAW)

The program known as Transitional Housing for Victims of Domestic Violence/Abuse is for both women and their children. The apartments/housing/rooms may be available for as much as 3 years. Also access legal advocacy, job training, and help in finding a permanent home.

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada - St. Vincent's Residence

Short term residence is offered for low-income individuals, retired persons, seniors, and families. Rent is due, but the units are affordable. It is an income based form of transitional housing. Reno and Washoe County Homeless Outreach
The government has a team of specialists that help the unhoused find a place to stay as they work on long term stability. WestCare Foundation

This is the Washoe County and city of Reno’s Homefront VA Transitional Housing program. It supports male veterans and offers life skills, case management, transitional apartments to homeless veterans and more.

Tahoe Womens Shelter Transitional Housing Services

There is Domestic Violence Housing Services, Assistance for women or other facing sexual assault, as well as shelter and legal aid for victims of child abuse, including teenagers or younger. They work with DSS in Washoe County. Or find details on public benefits from the government in Nevada.
