Organizations assist low income families with kids by providing free Christmas gifts, toys or food baskets. The charities also help seniors, the homebound or disabled with free home delivered holiday meals at Thanksgiving or Christmas. The programs Toys for Tots from a number of charities as well as the Salvation Army Angel Tree and Adopt a Family program. Most of the services in Summit County OH are focused on families with children, whether they are single parents (moms or dads) or guardians such as grandparents. Other assistance is for those with a short term crisis (such as unemployment) or the homebound.
