Summit County Ohio free Christmas and holiday assistance.

All across Summit County are charities and churches that offer help during the holidays. They assist low income families with children by providing free Christmas gifts or food and help seniors as well as the homebound in the form of home delivered meals. Other assistance is also provided to the less fortunate, depending on donation and volunteer levels.

Most of the services are focused on families with children, whether they are single parents or guardians. Other assistance is for those with a short term crisis (such as unemployment) or the homebound. In either case, programs as wide ranging as Adopt a Family or Toys for Tots in Summit County can provide gifts, games, winter coats, electronics, meals, and more to the less fortunate during the Christmas season.

Note that while not as common, some of the charities also offer help during Thanksgiving and/or Easter. Or if they do not, then referrals may be given as well.
