Free & Sliding Scale Health Care Centers in Salt Lake County

Salt Lake County, Utah has a large network of low cost and free healthcare providers, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), county public health clinics, and volunteer-run free clinics. These services help uninsured, underinsured and low-income residents access medical care or dental services. Below you will find a list of free and income-based clinics.

Major provider like Community Health Centers, Inc. and Utah Partners for Health operate multiple locations across the valley to ensure geographic accessibility. For those in specialized situations, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, the Fourth Street Clinic provides integrated care, while the Maliheh Free Clinic serves as a critical resource for those who do not qualify for government programs like Medicaid

Most community health centers in Salt Lake County offer care on a sliding-fee, with some even providing mental health support. These clinics are required to provide care regardless of ability to pay, although patients are usually asked to provide proof of income and identification to receive discounted rates. Residents seeking care should contact clinics directly to ask about appointment availability. As program availability, operating hours or walk-in arrangements,  are subject to change.

  • NOTE: List of the Salt Lake area clinics is cross-referenced with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) FQHC database, the Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and the Association for Utah Community Health (AUCH).
