Low income families may receive free items or vouchers while more moderate income residents may be required to purchase their items at a local thrift store.

The clothing and other items distributed tend to be gently used but higher quality. Thousands of families receive goods from the centers every year and the locations will help people from having to decide to spend money on clothes or other critical bills. Many Salt Lake City area centers offer other items as well, such as employment assistance, baby clothes, formula, and they may administer special Christmas programs and gifts for children.
