Transitional housing and homeless shelters Riverside County.

Find details on short term, low income housing and homeless shelters in the Riverside County region. There are accommodations as well as free vouchers for families facing eviction, veterans, parents with children or single moms or those that are currently homeless. Most services are part transitional housing programs and will not only provide individuals a place to stay, but will also help the resident find a new home or apartment to live in. While some of the resources are privately funded, many of the low income housing units rely on government subsidies and grants. There are places in Riverside County to stay for immigrants (documented or not), migrant workers, the disabled or mentally ill and the homeless, including a single woman or man. Also some free emergency temporary housing units or motel vouchers are offered. There are also rental assistance programs for veterans.

When staying at a homeless shelter or short term housing unit, clients will often be able to work with a case manager or social worker. They will help the individual or family locate a new place to live and will often assist with applying for financial aid, including rent or deposit assistance programs. There are free temporary housing and shelters open tonight for single adults, teens, people with addictions and others. Other services generally available include job search assistance, food, applications to VA benefits for veterans, and case management.

The non-profit will take adults, low-income individuals or families from a shelter environment and place them into transitional housing. Those who use the service will need to pay a portion of their income towards their monthly rent, energy bills, and other housing costs. They are part of Jewish Family Services of Riverside and southern CA.

An emergency homeless shelter is on site, including for cold and/ot hot weather. Other social services available to those using the center include needs assessment, case management, a free meal, job programs, and more. Single people (men or women) and families with kids can use the free Riverside County shelter.

Military personnel and veterans that are facing eviction, behind on their rent, or that are currently homeless can get help from this Riverside County non-profit. If offers short term housing, clothing, food, and other aid. Partner with a case manager in an effort to find a permanent home or low-cost apartment to live in.

A department provides housing assistance. This includes help in locating and paying for emergency, transitional, or permanent housing in Riverside. Apply for funds for paying rent, mortgage, and utility assistance to maintain or secure housing. Salvation Army of Riverside
