Riverside transitional housing and shelter.

Riverside programs offer short term, low income housing and shelter to families facing eviction or those that are currently homeless. Most of the services are part of so called transitional housing programs and will not only provide individuals a place to stay, but will also help the resident find a new home or apartment to live in.

While some of the resources are privately funded, many of the low income housing units rely on government subsidies and grants. The demand for the programs are very high and most of the non-profit agencies have a waiting list in place for qualified Riverside County families.

When staying at a shelter or short term housing unit, you will often be able to work with a case manager or social worker. They will help you locate a new place to live and will often assist with applying for financial aid, including rent or deposit assistance programs. Other services generally available include job search assistance, food, and other case management.
