Resources are limited and local in nature. The PG County churches provide financial help, including for rent or electric bills, to people in the parish only. Some programs, such as food distribution, counseling, referrals and voucher programs are more wide ranging to anyone in need.

A church will generally only be available as a last resort, once all other local charities and government programs have been applied at or used up. In addition, any financial help will be very limited and paid directly to the landlord, utility company or creditor.

This charity / ministry has an Emergency Aid Fund. As part of it, they offer funds to pay for housing costs, including a mortgage, rent, utility or even water bills. There will also be limited vouchers from the Ministry to pay for gas or a motel and they have food programs too.
Community Ministry Of Prince Georges County is another faith based group, and they offer limited amounts of emergency help to pay utility bills or rent as well as operate a free food distribution Center at 311 68th Pl, Seat Pleasant, MD 20743. Congregations United for Compassion and Empowerment as well as University Park Church of Christ are made up on partner organizations at 6420 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, Maryland 20782. What churches give out free food and basic needs
