While the non-profit can provide emergency rent assistance to prevent evictions to begin with, if a resident is currently homeless then rapid re-housing may be offered. Clients will need to attend case management, job training, and in general remain in stable housing as the assistance ends.

They only provide a homeless shelter is a disaster or emergency voucher for a motel.

Catholic Charities Neuville Housing of the Archdiocese of Hudson County/Jersey City

The resource known as the Mt Carmel Guild Housing Services offers transitional housing. In addition, clients can work with a social worker to locate permanent homes or apartments to live in. Assistance is for the currently homeless families with children, seniors, and children.

  • Many of the applicants are ineligible for entitlement and government benefit programs such as section 8. The program also tries to help homeless families stabilize their housing and living situation in the community. Each family who is successfully enrolled will be assigned a caseworker for intake to determine their specific needs in a host of areas, including substance-abuse counseling, employment, housing, and mental-health issues.

Offers veterans across New Jersey with comprehensive transitional housing. The various programs, meals, and support is for veterans struggling with homelessness. The center can house them for up to two years. Other wrap-around services include case management services, on-site recovery, a free computer lab, access to job training programs and other federal government and state benefits to enhance their financial self-sufficiency.
