Hillsborough County and Tampa free Christmas assistance.

Struggling families in Hillsborough County have access to a wide range of Christmas programs. Whether it is a free, small gift for a child, hot meal for the holiday itself, or a senior citizen receiving company on Christmas day, various charities can help. Thousands of Tampa Bay and county residents receive toys, gifts, presents, and more each holiday season.

A majority of what is provided is the result of donations and/or Adopt a Family type programs. Another major resource in the Tampa Bay area is Toys for Tots. This means that a client will receive assistance (such as a gift, toy, game, or meal) based on what has been donated. The demand for items is always very high, so unfortunately some families may not receive what they need.

Also, Hillsborough County residents should be sure to apply for holiday help early, often during the late summer or fall months. Most of the free toys or gift cards are provided first come-served to those children or parents that qualify.
