Various free food banks, soup kitchens and pantries operate both in the city and county of St. Louis Missouri. Some of the centers operate from churches and others are located in non-profit organizations or charities. If you need groceries, meals, free personal toiletries or hygiene items or food for you or your family, do not hesitate to call or stop by to apply for help. There are also other government programs that can assist, such as SNAP food stamps or Meals on Wheels.

Some of the programs and services administered can offer the needy access to low cost or free food, government commodities, and other emergency assistance. What is not as widely known is that many food banks can also provide other help. For example, some distribution centers offer clothing, Christmas as well as free Thanksgiving meals, household cleaning supplies as well as gift cards for grocery stores.
