There is free or affordable health care, dental services and other support for the low-income and people with no insurance too. Many of the clinics and health care centers provide medical care on a sliding fee scale. This generally means that patients will only need to pay what they can afford to towards their bills. In general, clinics will provide basic care, such as check ups, some limited medications, assistance to children and some basic family care. If a patient has a more serious medical need or health care condition, then referrals to a specialist will be provided. Some of the Omaha Nebraska area centers will also provide assistance with dental needs, including to Medicaid patients.

The nearby Omaha center is an option. What may be provided by the centers includes cholesterol screening, immunizations, flue shots, physicals, and treatment for basic illnesses or diseases. The center may also have low cost prescription medications.

School based clinics
The centers use nurses, volunteer doctors or dentists and staff to help students. Mostly free basic check ups are given, with referrals offered too. They also help kids on CHIP Medicaid, and learn more on CHIP insurance for kids.

Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church

They are a faith based, free clinic. The homeless and people with little or no money will get care. Counseling, medications, physicals and also eye exams too. Volunteer doctors and dentists offer care.

OneWorld West

Assistance is for patients in both Douglas and Sarpy County. Services are available for people of all ages, including pediatrics, obstetrical, geriatrics, general medical care, women's health, reproductive health, prenatal, obstetrics and gynecology, podiatry, and radiology/ultrasound. The center also coordinates full service dental care, screening, treatments, and other aid.

  • In addition to that, some behavioral services are available. Patients can meet with medical providers, hospitals, and others to receive care for their needs. Social workers are also available on site as well. For services not available at the clinic, then referrals are made for all patients. Any appointments for patients with limited incomes or without insurance are made through Hope Medical Outreach Coalition volunteer physicians and facilities

This is a low price clinic and can provide basic care in Douglas County.  A wide range of services are provided by doctors, nurses, and volunteers, ranging from immunizations to xrays and more. Some of the medical or dental care is free, but much of it is offered on a sliding fee scale.

Fred LeRoy Health and Wellness Center
