Many of the clinics and health care centers in Douglas County, Omaha, and Sarpy provide medical care on a sliding fee scale. This generally means that patients will only need to pay what they can afford to towards their bills. The services are limited and low income as well as uninsured people from the region may be able to get help from the centers.
In general, clinics will provide basic care, such as check ups, some limited medications, assistance to children and some basic family care. If a patient has a more serious medical need or health care condition, then referrals to a specialist will be provided. Services are available for people of all ages, including pediatrics, obstetrical, geriatrics, general medical care, women's health, reproductive health, prenatal, obstetrics and gynecology, podiatry, and radiology/ultrasound. The center also coordinates full service dental care, screening, treatments, and other aid.
In addition to that, some behavioral services are available. Patients can meet with medical providers, hospitals, and others to receive care for their needs. Social workers are also available on site as well. For services not available at the clinic, then referrals are made for all patients. Any appointments for patients with limited incomes or without insurance are made through Hope Medical Outreach Coalition volunteer physicians and facilities
