Dauphin County free Christmas and holiday programs.

Low income families in Dauphin County can apply for assistance at Christmas. There are several charity organizations as well as churches that provide free Christmas toys, clothing, holiday meals (including at Thanksgiving), and other help at the holidays.

Of particular focus is on assisting households that have young children or senior citizens in the home or apartment. When there is a child, the goal is to provide some type of Christmas joy to that individual. A major program to do that is Toys for Tots in the Harrisburg area as well as Adopt a Family. As no teenager or young child should go without do to the struggles of their parents.

The application period is usually during the fall. The name of the Christmas assistance programs in the Harrisburg as well as Dauphin County area go by Angel Tree, Adopt a Family, or others. In any case, some type of gift or meal may be provided, often for free.

Free Toys for Toys Program in Harrisburg and Dauphin County
Children, teenagers, low income families and others can register for free Christmas toys, games, books, and more. Several charities participate. They collect new, unwrapped toys, gift certificates, and Christmas presents and give them to qualified kids.
