Help with rent and housing in Comal County.

Everything from emergency rent assistance to homeless shelters, free legal aid, relocation services and other housing programs help the low income in Comal County. Charities, non-profits, and community action agencies offer everything from cash grants to help with paying back rent to money for security deposits and more.

When applying for rental assistance, or other support such as energy bill help, struggling tenants should do this before they have an eviction notice. The earlier the better as funding takes time to process. If the family or individual is now homeless, then the Comal County not only may refer the client to a local homeless shelter but they will also provide funds to pay security deposits, moving costs, and other expenses.

Note some agencies may offer short term loans in lieu of a grant. Regardless, when facing eviction, housing discrimination (in particular immigrants or minorities) or other housing barriers, apply at one or more agencies or charities below for help.
