Baltimore County and City free clinics.

Free clinics and health centers across Baltimore provide individuals with medical care, dental assistance, and a wide variety of other health services. The sliding fee, government qualified clinics can also offer medical referrals for the uninsured and low income. Everything from surgery to hospital care, health care for seniors, adults or children, prescription drugs and more may be offered.

Many locations are federal government qualified which means that they will help anyone, regardless of their income, language, immigration status or insurance status. Patients may need to pay some money towards their bills. Every year thousands of Baltimore Maryland patients receive assistance from the community clinics.

While each center will offer its own programs and referral assistance, in general services offered by the clinics include chronic care, preventative care, check ups, acute care, medications, and immunizations. Many of the free clinic also have advocates on sites for medical billing issues. Depending on the location, they may also offer adult medical or dental care as well as, HIV/AIDS treatment, pediatric care for children, OB/GYN care, and possibly even substance abuse treatment & referral.

As indicated, if a facility can’t help you with your need, they will usually give a referral to other Baltimore non-profits or free health/dental clinics for specialty cases. Regardless of the center selected, the amount a patient is billed will usually depend on their income and health insurance status.
