Yakima County food banks and pantries.

Needy residents in Yakima County Washington may be able to receive groceries, food, meals, and other items from local food banks and pantries. Several churches and non-profit organizations in the region offer these resources to low income families and others who may be struggling. More information on the centers are below.

The pantries tend to be open limited hours, so it is a good idea to call in advance for hours and details on distribution. Some of what may be provided includes fresh fruits, vegetables, canned goods, rice, breads and more. The demand for help will increase during the holidays, so some of the Yakima County pantries and feeding sites will try to provide special Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas meals. Some locations will also have clothing or other basic needs. In addition, volunteers or staff can often direct clients to government aid such as food stamps or the WIC program.

Grandview Seventh-Day Adventist Community Services is open one to two days per week. It provides free food and, if needed, gently used clothing to members of the community. Winter coats and jackets may be available by request during the winter. Also quilts may be sold very reasonably or given to those who can't afford to buy their own blankets. 110 N Elm Street, Grandview, WA, 98930. (509) 882-7919.
