Will County and Joliet Illinois food pantries.

Will County families that are in a crisis can turn to a food pantry. Most of the locations are operated by non-profits and also depend on volunteers. What may be provided by a center ranges from groceries to special holiday meals and other assistance for food needs. Thousands of families in Joliet and across the county use the charity services each year.

Short term, emergency assistance will help an individual or family access healthy, affordable food for short term needs. In addition to that, the staff at the Will County pantries will also try to get the resident on a path to long term stability, so they will offer case management or help in applying for welfare or food stamps. Some of this is offered in partnership with the department of social services.
