Volunteers of America Oklahoma programs.

Providing housing and other solutions across the state, Volunteers of America Oklahoma assists qualified low income individuals and families. They offer a wide range of programs for the less fortunate, including residents with a disability, the elderly, and formerly homeless. Services range from Permanent Housing to assistance for those with disabilities and senior care.

While various programs are offered, the focus is on addressing the state’s need for affordable housing. Staff and volunteers from the charity will partner with the elderly, formerly homeless, and evicted families to find a solution to their crisis. They will work to offer them low income housing as well as other support services.

The main resource offered is Permanent Supportive Housing. This is mostly for formerly homeless individuals and families. Many people who go through this Oklahoma Volunteers of America program will be placed into jobs, attend educational classes, and gain other self-sufficiency.

The organization is part of the Continuum of Care network. The Oklahoma Permanent Supportive Housing Program provides support to the disabled and others. This includes full case management and more. The goal is to help them live in their own rent subsidized apartment.

Volunteers of America offers much more than just affordable housing. They also coordinate case management services for the disabled and other residents. The goal is to help them gain stability. Much of this is accomplished by referring individuals to other community resources in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and other portions of the state.
