Needy families, including those with children or a senior member, are referred to the Love Inc. holiday program by churches, schools and the Clearinghouse. The process starts in the fall, and a referrals is needed in order to enroll. Free gifts or toys are delivered either by the sponsor or by Love INC volunteers one week before Christmas. There are other national and regional programs, and find free Christmas toys for your kids.

Life skills, including budgeting and financial workshops, are part of the Relational Ministry. Volunteers and counselors from the organization and local churches teach the unemployed and less fortunate basic skills. It stresses mentoring as well as encouragement and accountability.
