There are charities, donation services, and churches in Vallejo, Fairfield and across the county that provide free Christmas gifts or toys as well as meals to the less fortunate. When applying for help during Christmas or Thanksgiving, applicants need a birth certificate, proof of household income, and also evidence of the need. Clients can only get holiday help from one of the charities in the Solano County area and there is no duplication of services. What is given to the client depends on donation levels, but it may be free Christmas gifts or toys for kids, clothes, electronics, bikes, turkey dinners, Legos, stuffed animals and more. There are also free decorated Christmas trees and even gift cards to pay for Christmas gifts given out.
Also keep in mind that the application process for Christmas help will normally start as early as October in Solano County. Assistance is first come – served and the gifts passed out can vary widely throughout this period of time. Applications are in both Spanish and English, with immigrants also able to get free holiday food boxes or presents. Once the Xmas gifts or food boxes are gone, there is no more help provided.
