Salt Lake area Christmas and free holiday assistance.

Many agencies, supported by donations from people and businesses in the community, provide assistance during the holidays. Low income Salt Lake families with children as well as senior citizens are the main beneficiaries, and thousands are assisted each and every Christmas or other holidays such as Thanksgiving.

The programs will open for enrollment during the fall period, and they usually assist on a first come and served basis to those that qualify. Most of the aid is passed out during the Christmas season, with a focus on giving a meal to a family or a small present to a child. Charities want to spread the joy of the holiday season.

The Christmas programs rely on donations of clothes, gifts, and toys and volunteers, especially such services as Angel Tree. People package the gifts into boxes, or prepare a hot holiday meal meal for the less fortunate. Please do give back if you can.
