Rent help in Stark County Ohio.

Charities, churches and government organizations provide rental assistance in Stark County as well as Canton Ohio. While the funding is limited, every year thousands of families qualify for emergency rent or security deposit help that can oftentimes be used to prevent evictions or rehouse the low income. There are also shelters, transitional housing, and government grants for housing expenses.

In addition, people who need help with paying for security deposits or moving expenses may also find some services that can assist them. Other than section 8 HCV, the financial assistance offered is not usually done so as on ongoing charity type program or government subsidy. This means that the amount of rent assistance provided is limited and usually targeted at individuals who are faced with a short term hardship, or people who have a plan in place for long term financial stability.

So along those same lines, many of the Stark County Ohio non-profits also provide case management, counseling, and other support. Individuals should always call an organization or apply at a government agency for rental assistance before they receive an eviction notice. The earlier you apply for help the better.
