The Salvation Army of Canton and Stark County Ohio can assist the poor, unemployed, feed the hungry, and offer other forms of support. There may be funds to help pay bills or rent along with free Christmas toys from Angel Tree, groceries from the food pantry, back to school supplies as well as other support. Helping the less fortunate, also including seniors and the youth, is a focus of the non-profit charity organization. Assistance addresses all needs, including social, financial, and nutritional. The agency takes a holistic approach to helping the low income and less fortunate in Stark County.

Salvation Army emergency financial assistance in Stark County

Financial, and specifically housing needs, can be addressed from emergency rent, mortgage and/or utility bill assistance. Qualified low income Stark County families may be able to receive up to one month's rent/mortgage and/or utility bill payments. Appointments need to be made in order to apply.

Proof of hardship is required. At the time of your appointment at the Salvation Army center, documents are reviewed by a social worker. They will confirm your income, expenses, current members of household, and more. Any cash payment issued by the Salvation Army will be made directly to the vendor, whether it is a utility company, landlord, or bank.
