Queens free food pantries.

Residents of Queens New York can receive help from free food banks, pantries near you, and soup kitchens. The main places to turn to for assistance include local churches, senior centers, charities and other local non-profit organizations. Families can also look into other government funded and coordinated programs such as food stamps or WIC.

The free food banks are open limited hours and applicants will need to meet any application requirements that are in place. However they serve people of all ethnicities and nationalities, including Hispanics, legal or illegal immigrants, minorities, Asians, and others.

There is also a free referral number for more assistance programs at the bottom of the page. Depending on the pantry, the items provided can range from canned goods, groceries, personal toiletries, to fresh fruits and vegetables. Some centers have baby formula, serve hot meals, or provide clothing. Many of the Queens New York pantries will also administer free seasonal or holiday programs such as Thanksgiving, Easter or Christmas meals.

Extra donations are always needed as well. If you can contribute, please do so. Tens of thousands of struggling individuals, children, and senior citizens rely on these food banks for meeting their basic needs. Services are available in Spanish, Russian, and many other languages too. Many pantries in Queens also provide emergency food assistance in a crisis. If a food pantry based in Queens New York can’t help (as many qualifications are not met) then many other assistance programs are still available. They range from SNAP food stamps to charities, soup kitchens, and more.
