Free dental care from Oregon clinics.

Find how to get free or low cost dental care from clinics, volunteer dentists and non-profit centers in Oregon near you. Below is a comprehensive listing of free preventative and emergency dental centers. Assistance is given to people without health insurance, the low income, elderly and families on Medicaid (OHP Oregon Health Plans). There are free teeth cleanings, root canals, emergency oral surgery, extractions, X-rays and more. Also find a referral number at the bottom of the page for more resources.

Many of the free dental programs in Oregon are part of the Federally Qualified Health Center program. There are charities,  non-profits, and social services. The exact type of services offered will vary by location. Some will have cleanings, checkups, wisdom teeth removal, dentures or even offer surgery’s. Call the dental clinic in Oregon nearest to you in order to get help or referrals to other government programs or resources. Or find ways to save money on medical needs.

Each clinic is focused on helping the low income as well as under and uninsured with receiving access to dental care and other needs they may have. There are also free care for children as well as adults. If a need is complicated, specialists may be available at some clinics or a patient can be referred to one. Some free clinics offer patients a sliding fee scale as well for affordable dental care.

Johnson Children's Dental Clinic

Caring Hands Free Dental Services

There is free preventative dental, such as cleanings, exams, oral cancer screenings and more. The non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) will also offer other assistance programs as appropriate, for the population served, such as bilingual providers social services and basic medical.

Medical Teams International

Geriatric Dental Group

College and educational dental centers as well as clinics in Oregon
The locations below are run by colleges and/or technical schools. Children, seniors, and the uninsured can get free basic dental care, or there is support given for a minimal fee. All dental care is supervised by professionals. A college clinic can be a great option to save money.

  • Pacific Student Dental Hygiene Clinic, Free or affordable services are at 222 SE 8th Ave, Hillsboro OR 97123. For appointments, dial 503-352-7373 for an appointment. A dental education facility. Students and professionals can offer patients educational, preventative and therapeutic dental hygiene services. All people of all ages and income may qualify for care.
  • Oregon Tech Student Dental Hygiene Clinic, 3201 Campus Dr Seton Hall, Klamath Falls Oregon 97601. Main number is 541-885-1330
  • Portland Community College Dental Clinic, 1819 SW 5th Ave, Portland OR 97201. Phone - 971-722-4909. Another teaching facility that individuals can turn to for their dental care. Note the services offered are not intended to replace regular or extensive dental care in private dental offices, but to just supplement them. Both preventive dental services and Fees Payment for services is due on the first scheduled treatment appointment.
  • Ohsu School Of Dentistry, Portland, OR 97239. Call 503-494-8867. This is the primary clinic in the School of Dentistry. Student perform a number of dental services, under the close supervision of professional dentists.
  • Mt. Hood Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic, Gresham, Oregon 97030. Dial 503-491-7176. Low income adults, and people without insurance, can access programs and services. Get comprehensive dental hygiene care including x-rays, sealant application, fluoride treatments and check ups. No emergency care is offered.

The Wallace Medical Concern
A non-profit that offers sliding fee rates. No one is turned away. Free or cheap/high quality dental care is offered, including to patients on OHP. Get restorative care, Extractions, gum exams, extractions and other assistance

Asher Community Health Center (ACHC)

Wheeler County Oregon is served by the health and dental provider. The facility operates both a main clinic in Fossil 5 days a week, and satellite clinics in Mitchell and Spray Oregon. The location is a primary dental provider and outpatient care for low income to free dental services with contracted dentists on varying days and times. The location is also a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), so services are offered on a sliding fee scale.

Benton Community Health Center

Benton and Linn are supported by this Community Health Center. A number of medical and dental assistance programs are offered. Assistance is offered regardless of a patients insurance status, economic status, language, or health status. There is help for the disabled, people on OHP or Medicare, and the poor. A sliding fee scale has been put into place. So both low income, uninsured, and homeless individuals can access quality dental and medical care. They will only need to pay what they can towards their bills. And if they can't pay anything, then care may be free.

Under-insured and uninsured families can access dental and health care coverage from Oregon's states children’s health insurance plan (known as OHP) or a federal government program. Thousands of people get help every year from this network of clinics. No matter your background they may be able to help, but they do focus on the migrant, seasonal farm worker and day laborer population in the community. Cleanings, check ups, and other dental aid is provided. A so called permanent dental clinic. Note some vision services are also administered.
