Programs that give free stuff in NYC

Free clothing, holiday assistance, furniture and basic needs - Residents who need items such as clothes, school supplies or help around the house can turn to non-profit clothing closets and other charities.   • Legal Services of New York City is another option. They have offices in all boroughs, including Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Harlem and across the entire city. Case managers, lawyers, paralegals and other volunteers can direct individuals to foreclosure, credit, and bankruptcy counseling services. Information on free food and applications for government benefits can be obtained from the Hunger Hotline. This is a service available across New York City at no cost to families.
