Assistance in the northern Kentucky area.

Get help with paying bills

Find various programs in the northern Kentucky area that help people with rent, bills, housing, education, and other expenses. Locate resources in the following counties of Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton.

The Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission assists low and moderate income families. They offer a host of essential resources and services and have a goal of providing short term life and resources to ensure families get back on their feet over the long term.

While several different programs are offered by Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC), you will find just a sampling of them here. Contact them for more information on these or other programs, and you can also apply with them for aid.

A variety of rental assistance services are available, including help with paying rent, security deposits and even utility bills.

Weatherization services - Both Weatherization and home repair programs are available for low and moderate income individuals and families throughout the eight county region of Kentucky. Hundreds of homes are updated each year, and the improvements save homeowners hundreds of dollars per year on their energy bills.

Housing assistance - A comprehensive mix of home assistance opportunities are offered, including rehabilitation, repairs, rental assistance, ownership programs and homeless and eviction prevention services. More detail on the services offered include credit and pre-purchase counseling, one-on-one budget, and also coordination with housing finance organizations that will help promote home ownership and also increase the availability of affordable housing opportunities in the region for local residents.

Jon finding and training - NKCAC will offer qualified individuals with the employment finding resources, job training, educational, employment opportunities, and counseling they need to succeed in the work force and also find employment.

Senior programs - The agency also has a variety of services and resources for seniors and the elderly who live in the region. A sampling of those services include Emergency Food Pantries, Job Finding Services, as well as The Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

Head Start - Is offered for children up to age of five. Children are provided food, educational services, and access to dental and medical care.
