Free emergency food pantries and soup kitchens in Stanislaus County California and Modesto provide free food, groceries, meals, and other hunger prevention services to the low income in the community. Struggling families that are faced with an emergency, and need low cost or free groceries, meals or other assistance, then contact one of the food banks in the county near you , listed below, for help. Some of the Stanislaus County food pantries are operated by churches and others by additional charities or non-profit organizations in the region. If addition to distributing groceries and other items to the low income, seniors, unemployed, immigrants, and disabled, the food pantries are also great places for referrals on government CalFresh programs in California. Salvation Army Social Services
Stop by the food bank on site. They offer low cost or free food, meals, perishable items, and other financial aid to Stanislaus County residents. Also on site is a thrift store, clothing, help for bills and rent, and other forms of financial assistance and support for the needy and low income. The Salvation Army is always a great place to call for a wide variety of food and financial assistance programs. Also, meals for Christmas or Thanksgiving may be distributed, as well as gifts for children.
