Free holiday and Christmas assistance in Trenton and Mercer County.

Assistance programs are available during the holidays, including Easter and Christmas. Charities, churches and non-profits in Mercer County have free Toys for Tots, Angel Tree gifts for kids, and food baskets for low income families. Kids and seniors can get gifts or presents. There are also Thanksgiving turkey dinners, hot meals and other holiday assistance programs. Each year thousands of families (and children) from Trenton New Jersey and Mercer County get help. There is Salvation Army which gives out free holiday meals as well as Christmas toys or clothes from Angel Tree, including video games, Legos, barbie dolls, matchbox cars and more.

Catholic Charities and Toys for Tots (among other non-profits in Trenton) alsohelp low-income families, single moms or grandparents and the poor. Most of the assistance goes to children under the age of 17. The exact free toys, food baskets, Christmas presents or holiday meal programs also rely on donations from the greater Mercer County community. A free food pantry for holiday groceries is on site. Also free hygiene supplies. Meat, soup, Thanksgiving turkeys, produce, pies, ShopRite gift certificates and more may be on site.
