Madison County Alabama free Holiday and Christmas assistance programs.

Many of the Madison County families seeking assistance at the holidays are lead by single mothers or the working poor. Others that need help at Christmas are senior citizens looking for companionship,  grandparents raising their grandchildren, or the underemployed. When possible, free gifts, clothing, and meals are served to Huntsville area families regardless of their age, race, or religion, and one of the main services is free toys for tots from the Marine Corps and Salvation Army.

Several of the charities in the area run an Angel Tree program. This is not limited to the Salvation Army. This service uses donated toys, bikes, games, shoes, and more, and those items are then given to children based on their requests. But there are many other assistance programs that can also help low income families during the holiday season, whether it is Thanksgiving or Christmas.

For more details on the Madison County resources, see below. When applying for a free toy, bring proof of income, residency, and proof of need.
