Free back to school supplies, uniforms and clothes are given out in the Indianapolis area. Find charities, churches and local places that help kids from low-income families. There will be everything from tech products to backpacks, writing material and more, with some classroom stuff for teachers too. Find where to get free back to school supplies in Indianapolis.

The assistance programs start in the summer and wrap up in early fall. The back to school supply giveaways rely on donations from the public, but kids may get Chromebooks, backpacks full of items such as pens or binders, lunch boxes and more. Many students in the Indianapolis area also need electronics for distance learning, and tablets, Chromebooks and other items are offered. There are also free clothes programs in Marion County that may be an option

There is a Crisis Office. They give out free items, including school supplies and hygiene kits to kids. Students from immigrants and single mom run homes in Indianapolis can get free school supplies too.

Abundant Life Church

There is a Community Services groups that helps students of all agers. Get free clothes for school, sneakers, pro-tractors, backpacks, pens, notepads and more.

Volunteers of America Indianapolis
The non-profit is at 4181 E 96th St #120, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
Operation Backpack or Operation School Bell collect school supplies, gift cards, clothes, sneakers and more from the Marion County community. Those supplies are then given to local public schools, that provide the school stuff to kids in need. All grades can apply. An annual back to school supply giveaways takes place. There are items such as binders, crayons, dry eraser boards and more. The non-profit also gives free food during an event to students.

Teachers' Treasures

Teachers in Indianapolis schools can get free or low-cost items for their classroom. Whether supplies like erasers, highlighters, calculators or something else, other classroom supplies can be passed out too.

Multiple assistance programs are offered. Clothes, food, school supplies for students and more is passed out. A backpack may have items, based on grades, like a ruler, index cards, highlighters, crayons and other goods.

Public Service organizations
Each year local government agencies, such as the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Fire stations, hospitals and others hand out free backpacks full of school supplies to kids. Often the Indianapolis Public Schools do the same too for kids living in poverty, but all grades from K-12 can apply to services such as Back to School Festival.
